Norfolk County Council will be carrying out road resurfacing works on Old High Road (C880), between 20 metres east of the A1066 junction and 60 metres further east.

🗓 Planned dates: Monday 16th February to Tuesday 17th February 2026
⏳ Please note: work may continue as late as 31st March 2026 if needed.

👣 Pedestrian access will be maintained, and vehicles needing access to Manor Road can still reach it via Brewers Green.

🚗 Suggested diversion route:
A1066 High Road → Stanley Road → B1077 Denmark Street → Roydon Road → Old High Road (Roydon, Diss).

These works are being carried out by Norfolk County Council to improve the road surface in this area.

🗑️ Spot something different around the village?
You may have noticed that a few of our litter bins have been on the move! ♻️

A while back, one of our councillors spotted that there were two bins very close together on the High Road. At the same time, we identified that both Quaker Wood and Roydon Fen could really use one too. 🌳🚶

As a result, the Council decided to relocate one bin from the High Road to one of these new sites and purchase a brand new bin for the other.

A huge thank you to our contractor J.M. Crerar 👷‍♂️ for finalising the project today and installing the new litter bin at Quaker Wood! 🙌

💪 Don’t forget — our first community litter pick of the year takes place on Saturday 7th February, meeting at the Village Hall at 9.30am. Everyone is welcome — all equipment provided!

Join us for the final community litter pick of the year this Saturday, 22nd November 2025, and help keep our village looking clean, tidy and welcoming for everyone.

We’ll be meeting at the Village Hall at 9:30am to collect high-visibility vests and litter pickers. Once everyone has signed in, we’ll allocate areas around the village to cover so that together, we can make the biggest difference.

Whether you’re a regular volunteer or joining in for the first time, everyone is very welcome. It’s a great way to spend a couple of hours outdoors, meet other residents, and take pride in caring for our shared spaces.

After the litter pick, head back to the Village Hall for a well-deserved rest and some warm refreshments at our free pop-up café. There’ll be hot drinks, cake, and plenty of friendly conversation – a small thank-you to all our fantastic volunteers for their efforts throughout the year.

Let’s come together to make this final litter pick of 2025 a big success. Every pair of hands helps to keep our village beautiful and litter-free.

Broadland and South Norfolk Councils have once again launched their Christmas Toy Donation Appeal, supporting vulnerable families across our communities. Many families are facing financial hardship and may struggle to provide presents for their children this Christmas. This initiative helps ensure every child can experience the joy and magic of the festive season.

Whether it’s a cuddly toy, craft kit, or board game, your donation could bring happiness to a child this Christmas morning.

Due to the severe weather forecast for Saturday 4th October, the Community Litter Pick has been postponed until further notice.

A new date will be confirmed and advertised as soon as possible, so please keep an eye on our website and social media channels for updates.

The trustees of Roydon village hall are in the process of amending the Governance arrangements of the hall, they are bound to make these changes available for the residents of Roydon to view and make comment on. Therefore, they would like to invite interested parties to view the current, and proposed document between 21st September and 19th October. The documents are in the files on the village hall Facebook page, they can also be emailed to interested parties, and they will be physically available in the foyer of Roydon village hall on Sundays between 9.30 and 10.30am, as well as Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 6pm and 7pm – please only enter the foyer, and do not remove documents form the hall at any time. IMPORTANT NOTE, there will be groups using the hall during these times, so please be as quiet as possible in order to keep disturbance to a minimum.
