A1066 Improvement Works

Scheme Title:      Roydon A1066 High Road

Type of Work:      Carriageway Improvement Works

Norfolk County Council intends to carry out essential road improvement works on the A1066 High Road between Bellrope Lane and Denmark Lane, Roydon. To minimise disruption the resurfacing is being carried out for 9 consecutive days. This will consist of daytime works for 2 consecutive weekends (Urban section – Old High Road to Bellrope lane) and weekday nights (Rural section – Old High Road to Denmark lane), subject to suitable weather conditions.

During the works Road closures for through traffic will be required:

  • Daytime closure (6:00AM until 6.00PM) Saturday 11/03/2023 & Sunday 12/03/2023
  • Night closure Monday to Friday 13/03/2023 until the 17/03/2023 – 7:00 PM until 06:00 AM
  • Daytime closure (6:00AM until 6.00PM) Saturday 18/03/2023 & Sunday 19/03/2023 with road closed starting at 6:00AM Saturday (Directly after the Night works) until 6:00AM Monday 20/03/2023.

 

During the works access will be maintained to businesses and properties within the limits of the closure (Including Tudor Avenue and The Close) from one side of the works at all times. A fully signed official diversion route will be in place during the works. The road closure is essential to ensure the works are conducted in a safe and efficient manner.

We will reduce the impact on road users as much as possible and will ensure that any surfacing works completed in urban section during the nights will be completed before 11pm to minimise disturbance.
