Temporary Traffic Regulation Order 2026

In accordance with the provisions of Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Norfolk County Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that owing to gas escape repair works the use by vehicles (of any class) of the B1077 Shelfanger Road from its junction with U76012 Factory Lane for 50 metres southwards (the “Road”) in the Town of Diss will be temporarily prohibited/restricted.
Alternative route is via: B1077 Shelfanger Road/ Diss Road/ Church Road/ Diss Road/ Mill Road/ The Street/ Short Green/ Mile Road/ Haugh Road/ New Buckenham Road/ Cake Street/ The Green Attleborough Road/ Station Road/ Connaught Road/ Queens Road, A11 Attleborough Bypass, B111 Shropham Road/ Church Road/ Market Street/ Garboldisham Road/ Harling Road Manor Road/ The Street, A1066 Diss Road/ Thetford Road/ Diss Road/ Low Road/ High Road Stanley Road, B1077 Denmark Road (Bressingham, Quidenham, New Buckenham, Roydon, Diss, Bridgham, South Lopham, Old Buckenham, Garboldisham, Heywood, Winfarthing, Attleborough, Shelfanger, Snetterton, Banham, North Lopham, Harling, Roudham and Larling).
The works promoter for this restriction/closure is: Cadent.
The closure/restriction is necessary because of the likelihood of danger to the public or serious damage to the Road or both.
The closure/restriction is anticipated to take place from 8th to 23rd June 2026 but the Road may continue to be closed/restricted until the 28th June 2026 where the closure/restriction is still required beyond the anticipated dates.
This Notice shall automatically revoke on the completion of the works / when the closure/restriction is no longer necessary or otherwise on the 28th June 2026 without further notice.
If necessary, this Notice may be extended for an additional 21 days by further Notice and/or for a maximum of 18 months from the date this Notice is effective by further Order.
Any existing restrictions or prohibitions within Orders made under the RTRA 1984 will become suspended where they conflict with the provisions of this Notice during the operation of this Notice.
A person who contravenes, or who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the restriction/ closure imposed by the Order shall be guilty of an offence.
Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
