DDNP Steering Group’s VCHAP Submission

For information: the DDNP Steering Group’s response to the recent VCHAP consultation has noted South Norfolk Council’s approach, through VCHAP, of delegating authority for the site allocations for the South Norfolk villages within the DDNP area to the DDNP.  The Steering Group have confirmed what those allocations are, as set out in the current DDNP Regulation 14 Consultation.

In relation to Roydon, we have noted that following our summer 2020 consultation, which indicated strong public opposition to the SN0526 (Land at High Road, Roydon) site, we considered the further sites put forward during this consultation. Following an objective Site Assessment of each of these, all the sites rated amber (two were rated red, and none were rated green) were subject to a further public consultation in November 2020.  Following this process, the site on land south of Roydon Primary School was selected for allocation in the DDNP.  This was on the basis of the site assessment and level of public support.  We have informed VCHAP that it is both available and deliverable within the plan period.
