🌿 Keeping Roydon Beautiful: A Community Effort 🌿

Roydon Parish Council has been an active participant in the District Council’s annual litter pick event for years. Recognizing the need for more regular cleanups, the Council initiated a new approach in 2022. Now, three times a year, the community comes together for a litter pick, equipped with the Council’s resources. Adding a delightful twist to the cleanup, these events are held in conjunction with a pop-up café at the Village Hall.

📆 Last Saturday marked the kickoff of this year’s litter picks, coinciding with the Council’s Roydon Winter Green Day. We were thrilled to witness a fantastic turnout, with a record-breaking 28 enthusiastic residents actively contributing to the cleanup effort. Together, we successfully cleared a substantial amount of litter spanning the entire parish.

🧹 While our dedicated pickers uncovered an array of discarded items, perhaps the most peculiar find of the day was a full jar of pickled eggs! It goes to show that every litter pick holds its surprises.
