Winter Litter Pick
Following suggestions from litter pickers at the previous parish litter pick last autumn, the parish council agreed to organise an event in the winter period where litter would not be covered by seasonal vegetation growth.
Accordingly, this event took place last Saturday morning, the 5th of February, at the Village Hall. The weather was cold but with bright sun, and a record number of 18 local residents turned out to pick litter in specific areas of the parish allocated to them. In addition, 3 other residents did their litter pick on previous days, being unable to attend on the Saturday.
A large amount of litter was collected and participants were invited afterwards to refreshments in the Hall (see pictures).

Additionally, thanks to the parish councillors who set up the event, and provided biscuits and homemade cakes to add to the refreshments kindly provided by the supermarket Morrisons.
